I still have my NEC MultiSync 3D monitor. I've only ever used it
on my Apple IIgs, but in that situation all it's required is a standard
VGA-to-Macintosh (HD15 to DA15) adapter attached to the end of
the cable. DIP switch positions on the adapter are ignored from what
I recall.
I've been meaning to try it on other vintage systems that require
15 kHz (i.e. Amiga, Atari ST, CoCo 3, Apple III, Sega Genesis,
Super Nintendo) but haven't had the chance to wire up an adapter.
I may try it on my Apple III using the Mac adapter, but that didn't
work out with my Sony CPD-1302.
