You're kidding, right? ;-) Compilers are worthless in an environment of many gross errors. Before handing a program of any length to the compiler, I'd at least create a list of unique "words" and their frequencies-- that would expose many of the errors. OCR, particularly when done on scans not made specially for the purpose of OCR, tends to be so inaccurate that it takes about as long to find and fix the many errors as just typing it all in yourself. ;-( Such inaccurate OCRs are still useful for textual searching, as long as you don't need the results to be complete or correct--just "indicative" of what you're looking for. -michael NadaPong: Network game demo for Apple II computers!
