That's likely, since an analog monitor depends on getting the digital
color to analog color matrix (on the card) right, and then getting the
monitor's RGB channels (including gamma) set properly to maintain the
correct mix for the colors that must be produced.

With a digital color connection to the monitor, the matrix is in the
monitor, so the matchup usually works as intended--unless it was
designed for use on a computer with a different palette (like CGA).
