Go figure. Earlier this year I picked up an ultra rare C-Vue LCD display
for the Apple IIc off eBay. I was the winning bidder at 99 cents! (note that
is cents, not dollars). Perfect condition too, no discoloration whatsoever.
So, I'm guessing that it was hard to find, since your competition didn't
find it...?
I found it by pure luck, it was listed under something like business
and industrial electronics. No mention of it being Apple related, or
even vintage computing parts, and of course the seller had no clue
what it was (apart from mentioning it was an obsolete LCD display).
It was actually a relisting since it originally got zero bids! Even after
I won, I couldn't believe it until it arrived in the mail and I had it in my
hands. :)
That's what I figured happened--it was invisible to all potential
buyers except you. ;-)
Feels like a kid in a candy store, right? ;-)
It's missing the stand that lets you mount it on the Apple IIc, but
otherwise I can't complain (and interestingly, the screen is nicer than
my other C-Vue. That one has a kind of anti-glare coating over the
glass). The weird thing is only a few weeks earlier I had a dream
about finding an Apple Flat Panel Display! Still hoping to one day
find one of those...
From all I hear, they are not very useful--except as "collectors'
items".
