i give up!!

thanks everyone for their input on this, but i simply cannot get an 
unforked file transfered from a mac.
i have tried everything i can think of, including.

- using a shared volume for archives. (os 9 ramdisk formatted as prodos 
volume.  figured out
that even though is says prodos volume, it's really not since is 
preserves mac metadata.)
- prodos formatted floppy disks in 800k and 1440k sizes. (hard to work 
with in the finder since
any file copy crashes the finder when the fork is encountered. - can't 
copy to disks.)
- various copy programs under emulation, trying to move archived files 
from a ram disk to a
floppy. (looks successful at first until i noticed the resulting copy 
is zero Kb long.)
- changing type and creator to various combinations including 
TEXT,BINA, etc and pdos.

if you can think of anything else?
