FWIW I have problems rebooting a //e with CF card on a Focus card, and
a Focus card in a iigs after changing hard dirves. I think folks
thought it was a timing problem. I tried some of the tricks you
described and nothing worked except placing a floppy which booted and
then called something which booted the CF card. With the iigs I cycle
power for a reset.
