You're right, this is all about the driver, not the hardware.  But, I
bet we could figure out some hardware characteristics by reading that
driver.  If you look at "Bit.8.Control.pdf," it explains a procedure
for patching it.  If you just do the BSAVE like they suggest, you
would capture it in its entirety...
