Re: CFFA no more ?
The Microdrive devices are similar to CFFA and they are still being
made.

I really love mine for the Apple 2e. I bought it a couple years ago
and it's still my favorite plugin board. You can boot from any of the
4, 32Meg partitions using OpenApple and the partition number.
I can't imagine why anyone would not want to use a Compact Flash card
as a hard disk for the Apple II. Sure they cost a little bit more than
some people are willing to spend, but it's been a "no brainer" for me.
I have to consider the value of my time, and it saves me a lot of time
over working with floppy disks, or the old tempramental hard drives
such as the Sider.
By using Ciderpress and a cheap CF card reader on the PC, it also
becomes super easy to transfer disk images to and from the Apple. I
can't imaging using the Super Serial Card for that purpose any more.
By the way, the Little Proto Board that Henry will begin selling soon
looks pretty sweet for hardware hackers.
