GSE-Reactive sells a little AA replacement battery holder for $6 that
can do the trick, and all you need is a wire cutter. (No endorsement
is expressed or implied. I am handy enough with a soldering iron to
be dangerous (to myself, typically) so I just wired up a battery
holder from my favorite electronics dealer for less than a buck.)
