Re: A2 Rev 0 Recreation Update #2
Take a look at this image from my website.
http://www.willegal.net/appleii/images/rev0clone-front.jpg
The most obvious difference is the prototype area from A-11 to A-14,
which is greatly reduced in later revs in order to supply room for the
chips required to make the improvements mentioned elsewhere.
By the time rev3 or rev 4 came out, there were a great many subtle
differences in trace placement throughout the board.
Another related question I have for the group. Does anyone have a rev 1
or rev 2 board? My rev 3 is copyrighted 1978, and I know Apple was
still producing rev 0's well into spring of 1978, so the run of rev1 or
rev2's must have been pretty short.

Hi Folks,
I put some preliminary information on my site about availablity and
cost of kits. Goto the apple II recreation page for more information.
Mike,
What precisely is the difference between a Rev 0 board and its
successors? How does one identify it? You mention something on your web
site about "a transistor at <some coordinates>", but the grid
coordinates don't correspond to anything obvious screened on the
motherboard itself. Is there a secret decoder ring somewhere? I have a
very early Apple ][ and am trying to figure out if has a Rev 0 board
installed.
