i have the above modification 14mhz..it ran a bbs (and as an addition off of 
an inet worldgroup bbs ) 24/7 from 1991 till 2002....it still works...

i did always run the unit with the hood off and it was /is in a gs upgrade 
case...

it could go faster...but was only stable 24/7 with the 14mhz  crystal dealy 
(i'm so not a tech)
