BTW, since this is a clone keyboard, likely of the "macro" type, with
a largish chip count, it no doubt has a processor on board. If that
processor isn't running then the keyboard won't work (but ctl-RESET
will).
Well, if it is a barbecued chip on the keyboard board which suddenly looks
more likely, I think I'll solve it my way. First try substituting glue
logic chips, and if that doesn't work, pull the big chip and splice in a uC
with firmware oozing with featuritis.
I noticed Vince Briel just released a Plus keyboard encoder. I was
contemplating doing something similar. Seems a bit of a fait accompli now
though.
