The recalibration is nary a worry. FWIW, even those drives that are 'quiet', are still wracking up against the end of their stroke.
Actually, a lot of half-height drives have a logical interlock disabling seeking out past track zero, since their seek mechanisms would otherwise stress a bunch of parts that are *not* made for stress. -michael NadaPong: Network game demo for Apple II computers!
