What, exactly, qualifies as a "dongle"?  I always thought
they were devices whose only function was to permit an
application to verify their presence (for copy protection
purposes).  I note that the term has recently been misused
for almost any small device connected by cable to a computer,
like a video "breakout" connector.

This is a DAC board, audio amp, and speaker.  It can be
used to play any sampled sound with 8-bit accuracy, or
you could disconnect the speaker and use it for an
analog output device.  It can even be POKEd from BASIC.
