Virtual GS Programming (http://virtualgs.larwe.com - a site dedicated
to beginners learning about simple programming using emulated Apple
IIGS on PC or Mac) has gone through some updates:
- begin to split the GS Programming page into multiple pages, each
page dedicated to teaching on commands for a library (eg QuickDraw,
Events, MiscTool). More commands will be added to each page as times
goes on, and more libraries will be added depending on feedbacks. I
wanted to keep the commands to the essentials, just enough for the
beginners to start and can proceed to write a full screen graphics
application or games.
- more example codes in Fun and Games page, and invitation for
external programmers to send in source codes to share with other
programmers.
- all programming samples are now properly formatted to improved
readability.
- update to Crazy Typer source code to become a full event driven
program, which teaches both keyboard and mouse handling. (http://
virtualgs.larwe.com/Virtual_GS_Programming/Crazy_Typer.html)
- minor updates to other programming examples.
Thanks for all the feedbacks! I hope this site can help promote Apple
IIGS as a virtual platform suitable for teaching and learning
programming concepts, and perhaps even grow the Apple IIGS programming
community a little and keep the spirit alive! Apple IIGS Forever!
