What does the wonkiness involve? I only have a platinum iie - if

Unfortunately the Platinum IIe only has a single "CF" ROM, so you'd
need a slightly redesigned device. Of course, there's no reason why
the code itself shouldn't run.

The 'wonkiness' I assume is due to the different routines between
enhanced and unenhanced ROM sets making slightly different uses of
zero page locations for temporary storage.

Is there any reason why the unhenhanced firmware ROM routines (copied
into a single EPROM of the right form factor) wouldn't work in a
platinum iie? I have access to an EPROM burner, which I've used
already to burn a 27c256 with the firmware that the machine came with
+ a copy of the "enhanced debugging monitor" with a switch to toggle
between the two, so I was hoping to repeat that process except with a
copy of the Senrio PROM images if/when they are available. I'd also
need to building an NMI switch as well but that looks pretty doable.

In fact, the pictures of the board that Mike posted would make it
possible to completely reverse-engineer it--with a little second
guessing. ;-)
