Forget about converting the Apple to PAL. It means getting another
mainboard, and the picture quality of PAL Apples is not that great
anyway in graphics modes, you can expect moire patterns and a very
noticeably "shivering" picture. Plus the picture looks "squished" with
(American) software since the aspect ratio is quite different.

The better choice is to move your monitor to NTSC. Most newer TV sets
sold in Europe can handle NTSC. I got a small Thomson set last year and
it works just fine with a NTSC Apple board.
