The real problems in building a browser for the IIgs, is that the IIgs
screen just does not have sufficent resolution or colour to render the
images, and does not really have sufficient processing power to extract
and build the graphics, that in any way would satisfactorily represent
the kind of web pages we now find.
This was why when building the SIS HTML engine, I decided not to even
attempt to display images, and to concentrate on rendering the text
only. The method I used resulted in pages being drawn at a reasonable
speed, and with reasonable clarity, giving comparable to a browser with
the graphics turned off.
If anyone can improve on the display from the HTML engine in SIS, I will
be the first to congratulate them!
