My best guess is there's a mismatch in serial port speeds.  The
relevant thing here is the message the ADTPro server puts out with the
"Click Ok when ready" message - it tells you the command to type on
the GS to set the matching serial port speed.  The default is 9600
baud, which equates to <Ctrl-A>14B on the GS.  Do you get the little
"?" prompt on the GS when you hit <Ctrl-A>?  And make sure not to add
any spaces in the key sequence between that and the "14B" part.
