exactly. i use lynx via a dial-up shell and see nothing on any of those
pages - no links whatsoever. for example, if i want to download the game
"columnsgs" and go to that page, i get nothing. but if i view the source
for that page, i see the actual file link is called /gs/columns.zip.
using the following: www.virtualapple.org/gs/columns.zip, i can get the
file. if i can get it that way, why not just put a link on every page
instead of tying it all through java which a lot of isp's are disabling
due to hacker abuse. if all the files were easily named, there would be no
problem but a lot of files have complex and it's a pain having to download
every html, view it's source and edit it to find the exact url of the file
i want. asimov (and just about everyone) makes simple easy to use links.
come on, guys. you can too.
it's great when you can use your 2e to connect to a site via lynx and
download directly without having to mess with a microsoft piece of junk
and crappy i.e. or firefox.
