What audio compression method are you using? I mean, sqeezing 35 minutes
of music into a mere 140K implies a bit rate of only some 0.5 Kbps. You must
have a terribly efficient audio compression algorithm to get something
intelligible from that extremely low bit rate. I mean, even DRM (which
focuses on low bit rates and modern efficient compression algorithms - check
out http://www.drm.org ) uses some 5 to 8 Kbps to get what they call "near
FM radio quality" - in mono of course.

But if you want to store audio on vintage equipment, why not go still
further back? Why not try cassette tape instead of diskettes? After all,
the cassette tape was designed for just that -- storing music! ;-)
