Hi
I'm considering to buy a Videx Video Card for my II+ on eBay but is has
no videocable. There is a 5 pin connector there, so it would probably be
possible to make the necessary cable. I have searched on the net and
have found no description of the cable or even a photo of the card with
the cable. Could anyone explain what the pinning for the cable is?
In basis I'm just out to get lowercase (on the display) for my II+. So I
though an 80col card would do the job. My II+ is the RFI version so an
option would be to just burn eprom and replace the character generator.
I have a programmer and I have suitable eproms. What I miss is a clear
description of what modifications I need to make. - You need to add an
extra bit for the decoding don't you? Or does the RFI version bring all
the necessary bits to the character generator for it to handle also
lowercase?
Also; is there any hex or binary ROM file for the II+ character
generator eprom with lowercase? Anyone have this mod? Or do I have to
create it myself glancing at the IIe or check the emulators?
The II+ now works fine and I just got a 16K card as well as the SSC I
got earlier and the disk II card it came with. Also got a joystick for
it. It is a real beauty except that some silly programs write numbers
and signs instead of lowercase on the screen...
