Hard Drive Installation Help?

I have played around with various "abandonware" items downloaded from
the "IIGS Fairway" site (Stickybear, etc) to convert the apps from
3.5-disk resident things to something that will launch from GS/OS. So
far, no luck. Has anyone had any success?
I took a skim through the docs* for "HD Install" ("HDInstall?") but am
not sure that will work - plus I can't find the installation media for
HD Install in the fist place.
Help?
