Bootstrapping and Apple IIe from a UNIX host

I recently got an Apple IIe after years of not having any 8-bit
micros.

Unfortunately I tossed my Apple disks years ago (actually, all of my
8-bit stuff, in a junk removal error).

My Apple IIe is a 1984 model with 80col card, Unidisk controller,
SuperSerial card, and a pair of Unidisks.

It seems to me that I should be able to create a bootable floppy by
sending the disk image from my UNIX machine over a serial link,
and have the Apple write the image out to the floppy drive.

I assume I could do something like this to get the program copied to
the
Apple and running:

Apple:  in#2
UNIX:   cu -l ttya
                pr#2
                call -151
                <enter hex code for program>
                <run program>
                <send disk image to apple>
Apple: program reads data and write it to floppy

Is this possible?

Even better, has someone already done it, because I don't currently
remember enough of any of this to write the program, even though it
shouldn't be that hard.
