So it could - otoh there's hardly any scarcity of other valuable
information sources for the Apple II .....

But if you want to open a new one, there are plenty of varieties of
the domain name you could try.  Some suggestions (I haven't checked that
they're all free though):

apple_ii.com
apple][.com
apple_][.com
apple2.com
apple_2.com
