I was looking through Andy Hertzfeld's recollections. I know someone who talks to Bill Atkinson fairly regularly. I'm curious about the Quckdraw origin and if he ever saw the thesis that Jef always referred to. Since Atkinson's drawing routines were ported from Lisa, where they were called LisaGraph or something like that.


I was surprised to see the graphics routines used for the Apple Graphics Tablet labeled Quickdraw too. It seems to be quite the name for anything graphics related at Apple during that time. I'm not sure who was responsible for that code. Bill Atkinson has been one of the few software "heroes" of mine. More for his work on Apple Pascal and the Turtle Graphics implementation than for Lisa/Mac. Probably because that was the first *real* language/system I learned.
