Their second response back on - Jan 9th 2007

I do not have any new firmware as yet.

The team is currently working on adding slave port functionality and will review feature upgrades after that.

Perhaps it's time to ask again :-)

Follow up April 18th 2007

The development team has reported back that this enhancement is not feasible due to a lack of resources in the device.

Sounds like Krapp to me.

I agree.

As Michael said in another post, the routines would already have to exist at a lower level anyway.

I've emailed them aswell, got to keep the pressure on them!

I did look at the USBwiz stuff aswell, which already support read/write block commands.
They lack the parallel FIFO interface however, which I would prefer to use.

Agreed ...

Would have to use the UART interface which would be possible, though slower.
6551's (and the like) will struggle *long* before they get near the top speed of the UART on the USBwiz boards.
Could always use a 16550 I suppose with it's decent FIFO....

I think there are better ways then using a UART ... makes things simple for the typical data logger applications but not to useful for this kind of application ...
