You can certainly launch ProDOS-8 SYS files (applications) from Finder.
You can also launch some types of documents or programs which run inside
a particular application, such as BASIC.SYSTEM.
GS/OS can take advantage of ProDOS-8 applications which support the
extended protocol for specifying a startup document, by patching the
pathname into a buffer near $2000 after the SYS file is in memory.
BASIC.SYSTEM supports this protocol as do a few other P8 applications.
This means you can directly launch a BAS file (Applesoft BASIC) from
Finder. Launching a BIN file will work as long as it runs under
BASIC.SYSTEM with a BRUN command.
This won't help with full disk software that needs to start up with PR#6
(or Ctrl-Apple-Reset).
