Just look at the H-1B situation. They reached the cap in 1 day. I find
it hard to believe there aren't any skilled US workers though. A lot
of us lost our jobs after Y2K, and had to take something to support
our families. But once you have "Burger King" on your cv, you aren't
"skilled" anymore.
The argument Bill Gates et al. are making is that skilled US workers
want more money. That argument sounds familiar. I, for one, would work
for what the H-1B's are making. The job I have now is less than half
what I was making in '02, and it wasn't as much as others were making.
