Here are some responses to your question:

1) There certainly aren't that many where I live. (Japan)
2) They are expensive here. (US$300-$500)
3) They are bulky and require large monitors. (No VGA, USB)
4) People worry about antique parts (e.g. memory) failing.

All of these concerns are addressed by emulation, but that's a
separate issue. ;-)
