Yeah, the prism based CF products we are interested in are 802.11b. They
are not being made anymore (the industry has moved on to 802.11g and now
n) but you can still find them around. There are several different
brands available Linksys, Trendnet, Netgear, D-Link, and Zonet. More
then enough for the numbers that would be used by AppleII hobbiests.
Another good source of info is Fred Eady's book - Implementing 802.11
with Microcontrollers - it covers the AirDrop A (AVR) and Airdrop P
(PIC) based boards ... I have an AirDropP.
