Oh man, I got this, put it on disk and played it. Very disappointing. :( I thought it would be faster than the C= version, but believe it or not, the C= with a Mach 5 cart is MUCH FASTER with the disk access... by a lot. They must have used some really screwy disk routines for the Apple II port. Also, what's up with constantly loading data during the game? The C= 64 has the same amount of RAM and never goes to the disk during the game. Oh, and the A2 version's map editor doesn't check complexity of the map before starting the game, so you have to make it all the way into starting a game for the computer to decide the map is too complex. Is the A2 version's AI crippled? I've never seen the C= version complain about a map being too complex. I'm bummed, this is a game where the A2 could have (should have) trounced the C64 because the graphics aren't demanding at all, it should have been about raw I/O performance since the CPU speed is the same, but the A2 community got hosed by EA on this one. :(
