Memory Peeker and Visit Monitor are called the programmer CDAs.

They are in the ROM of ROM 3 IIgs'.

At some point in time, the memory location in the BRAM (battery RAM) was
set to the value to load those CDAs from ROM and make them available to
you.

If they are something that might be useful to you then, yes, you want
them there.  However, if you don't know what you are doing, the Visit
Monitor CDA could be fairly dangerous as it allows you to change things
in memory so when you leave and go back to whatever application you were
running, things might not continue working like they should (ie.
freezes, crashes, corrupted data, etc).

The SetStart Control Panel Device (CDEV) has a checkbox called "Enable
programmer CDAs".  Just check that box and reboot and you'll have them
back.  Uncheck that box and reboot and they'll be gone again.
