CF card out of a camera has a FAT filesystem.  I can't remember offhand
if it has a trivial Windows partition map or just starts at block 0 like
a floppy.  I think it's the latter, but I'm away from my Windows system
at the moment.

CFFA has no partition map, FocusDrive and MicroDrive have custom maps.  If
you put a Mac or Windows partition map on a CF card nothing on the Apple II
will recognize it.

With Mac OS X you *might* be able to "dd" the blocks straight off the CF
card into an image file and work with that.
