No, it is not possible through a keyboard command (unless the
application
you are using supports it)...

If you want to kill the sound, unplug the speaker from the
motherboard..
or put a toggle switch inline.

Or better yet, make a small op-amp circuit with a potentiometer to give a proper volume control.

Or just use a 50-100 Ohm pot like this:

Keep in mind that one side of the speaker connector is +5v.
