It's also switchable by softswitch, yes, but the default is to enable
the motherboard ROM, and operating systems prior to ProDOS aren't
aware of the switch.
The Videx's force enable allows it to be the default card in slot 3,
regardless of the state of the softswitch, making it work
transparently with DOS 3.3 and Pascal applications.
