Re: Identifying Apple II / II+ / IIe power supplies?

Hi. I've been restoring a variety of Apples lately and am trying to
get them as close to "correct" as I can. I've noticed quite a number
of different model power supplies.. some gold, some silver. I had
thought gold ones went in the II or II+, and silver was IIe... but I
have 2 IIe's here with gold supplies.
The labeling is even more confusing:
Out of 2 IIe's: model #605-5703 Gold
Out of a II+: model A2M001 silver
Out of a II+: model A2M0030 gold
Out of a II: a Apple silver supply with no model # at all and a very
large label on top.
These are all Astec supplies.
Apple's numbering schemes drive me nuts.
Does anyone have a list of these models, or know how to properly
match them for a "correct" restoration?
There were lots of power supplies replaced with newer units, both Apple-
labeled and third-party.
Apple used several different power supply manufacturers, and I always
thought they just used the ones they had on hand!
But if anyone knows what power supplies were original for various
models, that would be interesting...
