According to the way I read a VOM, wiring a 16-pin DIP socket like the
diagram below will replicate the standard SSC's jumper-block.
(View it in a mono-space font. The Terminal/Modem" arrow points up, and
you're looking down onto the top of the "chip" - conventional IC
pin-numbering order is used)
