The value of i can be written in at least one number system that I've
seen. I don't have my university notes handy, or I would be able to
write it down for you, but IIRC it was a system where numbers looked
like "...999", with infinite digits to the left.
Keep in mind that any number system is an abstraction, and what you
perceive as "real" is just social conditioning. Our ancestors didn't
accept negative numbers (or even 0) as being "real" for a long time.
