I feel the same way - I think the chaotic nature of the sound artifacts
on LP's makes it less burdensome on the listener.

By contrast however, the predictable nastiness of an underperforming
DAC that reproduces higher frequencies as sawtooths I find to be
hellish on my ears. In the early days of CD audio it was common for low
end equipment to have this problem.

The voice on such CD's would have to be "Just relax and listen. If your
equipment is causing the higher pitch noises in this recording to sound
vaguely like fingers on a chalkboard, pop a vallium"
