Well i agree with Michael, the whole idea is a format that:
1. is inexpensive
and
2. can be used to move files between most PCs (including modern Macs)
    and the a2.

another possibility: use a generic 5.25 inch floppy formatted to the
correct file system
and size, using for ex.,  linux or mac os X.
(im not sure windoze can do this, im pretty sure linux and mac os X
can)

one more possibility, CF for apple II invented by Richard Dreher

imho a BRILLIANT idea, but not really "inexpensive," nor do most
computers use CF.
