And the CDROM is the only SCSI device on the chain?  That might be a
problem, as I think the RamFast needs a writable drive to store some of
it's configuration files.

I've had a variety of different CDROM's on my RamFast, and they always
worked without special drivers, but they've also been on the end of a
chain that had a hard drive on it too.
