If I'm following you correctly, you are trying to use an original Sider
with GSOS, correct?  In the dim recesses of my memory, I believe there
is a minor issue with the signature bytes in the original Sider ROM.
Something to do with supporting GS/OS entry points (?)

i think you are correct..make the guy should make sure it is the latest 
eprom on the sider card...but i think back in the day with the 10mb sider's 
at least a 3rd party made a chip to do gsos on your sider..then sider 
tweaked the eprom...but it sounds familar...the guys at www.gse-reactive.com 
should be able to help him?

it also may involve sider utils...get a newer by a couple years copy from 
someplace on the net and see if that takes care of it...the 3rd party chip i 
think only allowed you to make the entire hd gsos

again it has been awhile and for all i know this was vaporware and the 3rd 
party chip may have been promoted but never released
