I took four different approaches in CiderPress. One uses a
register-shifting scheme like the //e technote describes, one uses a dumb
"it's 140 pixels across" approach, and one does some odd things to make
it look as close to the IIgs RGB output as I could get it. The fourth
one, which is the only one that looks exactly like the RGB output, is
560-pixel black & white.
I spent an hour with Dazzle Draw and a magnifing glass in front of my
Magnavox monitor, toggling between RGB and composite video. The artifacts
on RGB don't seem to have any rhyme or reason to them -- it sorta looks
like there's a filter layer that cleans up certain transitions.
