Damn, I was afraid of this. Looks like I might have to sell this drive
then as I cannot warrant paying the extra $$ for a UDC controller.
I am kicking myself because not long after returning to the A2 scene
(early this year) I saw a UDC controller for sale locally (in
Australia) for about AU$30. I have since seen them selling on US eBay
for close to US$100. If only I knew at the time what a "bargain" that
had been. :-)
