Any Mac that doesn't have Power in the name should work. I have a
Quadra 650 that I use for Apple II related stuff (file server,
converting Mac disk images to real disks and such...) and it works quite
well for that. Another qay to put it would be using any Mac up to the
three digit model numbers. After that, things can get dicey and there
is software that does make disk images into real disks, but I've seen at
least one person who couldn't get it working.
Mac OS 7.5.5, which can be had for free from Apple, would probably be
the best option. But, getting it bootstrapped onto a Mac if you don't
have it can be a bit problematic. But if you get a Mac that has any
version of Mac OS 7 on it, you should be able to work things out.
