That must have been some capacitor! I'm guessing this isn't the kind you want to charge up and toss to someone as a joke...:)What voltage/Farad rating was it?
It's a long time ago but as far as I recall: 100V pulse 500ms pulse width zero resistance (except the Ri on the DUT ) I think there was a current limit of 8A or so. Anyhow some of the devices have skipped the smoking and exploded !! Others have just melted the bond wires. I loved this destructive work ! Took me a while to design the right protections for the IC.
