Yes, I've heard several similar stories of PC protection schemes that used
all sorts of 'stealth' techniques to prevent hackers using SoftICE and other
debuggers on their code.
Of course, at the end of the day, it's simply *impossible* to prevent a
hacker from ultimately cracking your software.
I'm sure half the schemes on the Apple can be defeated by changing a single
byte on the disk - albeit after several hours of disassembling/tracing. And
you can be pretty sure there's no 'stealth' behaviour going on to content
with...
