It seems there are two problems. Firstly there's the imaging
arbitrarily protected disks, which should be possible without any
additional hardware, assuming it's done on an Apple II - mod Copy II
plus to make images.

Then there's all those out there who would enjoy the convenience of
adding an Apple 5.25" drive to their PC's to make imaging all the stuff
that's available now simpler.

Both seem to be solvable independantly, but one solution to both
problems seems beyond the realm of feasibility to me.
