I finally dug through my tangle of cables and found a PC COM <-> Apple
modem port connector, and successfully transferred ADTgs over to a
floppy as directed in the readme, then loaded it. After this, I put
about half a dozen disk images I'd downloaded into ADT.exe's directory
as instructed, connected (at 9600 baud), and made sure ADT could list
them properly on the Apple. However, in attempting to transfer the
images (again, following the instructions to a T), I kept getting an
error akin to "not a 16-sector disk."
After this, I typed in ADTCheck and made sure the given ADTgs 0.91
numbers and the generated checksum matched up (they did), and tried a
few more images, experimenting with speeds between 300 and 9600 baud.
Still, no success. Does anyone have ideas on what the problem might be,
or offer a link to an image that's been used successfully before?
For what it's worth, I'm using a Windows XP machine, and since I have
only one 5.25 drive (off of which I BLOADed ADT), after loading I
switched off to the disk to be written to (and made sure the proper
drive/slot were selected in ADTgs). The 5.25 to be written to had also
been formatted just for the occasion.
Thanks in advance. I'm lucky it's such a busy place around here. :)
